MARTIN BOYCE
Since the beginning of his career, Martin Boyce has explored the convergence of art, architecture, design, and nature. Using a defined palette of forms, he creates dreamlike installations that are at once familiar and surreal. Everyday sights — a phone booth, a chain-linked fence, a ventilation grill — appear entirely unexpected. Boyce’s large-scale sculptures draw on the architectural residue of the past, recalling what he calls the ‘unauthored modernism’ that pervades the urban environment.
